We're Off!

We've been patiently counting the days down and we're finally off on our Moroccan surf holiday!! Honestly, I don't think I've ever put so much careful thought into packing for a trip... but it really has been a debate for me between fabulous beach wear {eight bikinis later} and less revealing outfits for trolling around the markets in a slightly conservative muslim country. The solution has been lots of light-weight vintage maxi dresses, soft pashminas and enough jewelry to jazz up any tent of a dress. The Brit on the other hand threw a pair of shorts, flip flops and swimming trunks in the suitcase and considered himself all packed....! Boys, I tell ya.

Purple Haze

I really wouldn't be a very honest style blogger if I didn't share with you a little glimpse of what I look like most of the time. In fact, I'm starting to think lounge wear really could be my niche when it comes to sharing outfit posts and capturing my true essence. I live in it, I breathe in it and absolutely adore everything about a comfortable, non-fussy frock {muu muu} to float around the house in. I bought this amazing 1970s Afghani caftan at a Venice Beach vintage institution, Animal House. I haggled with the owner Ron promising him that if he sold it to me for what I could afford, I would love it, wear it and cherish it forever. Looks like I'm a girl who keeps her word. I'm definitely bringing this baby with me on our Moroccan surf holiday... and if I end up pretty much wearing it the entire time that we're there... well, what else is new?

Birthday Love

My mother used to always say 'It's bad luck not to eat something sweet on your birthday', which really made for the perfect excuse to drag my visiting friends out for a little tea party. Not that they had any objections. All they had to do was take one look at the batch of freshly baked chocolate brioche and pot of Early Grey {done just right} and they were quick to join me in my addiction. I'm starting to think living a hop and a skip away from one of Brighton's coziest and best bakeries, Treacle & Co. , could be slightly dangerous... in fact Cocoon is starting to turn into the tea & cake blog {sigh}. What's a girl to do, the English are truly masters of baking and making a lovely pot of tea... plus it was my birthday {like a month ago}. Alright, I know, I need to diversify AND start thinking about that bikini I need to get into in two weeks.

Endless Summer

       

I had promised this little mix featuring our favourite artists from this year's Great Escape ages ago, I know, but {phew} life has been full of lovely surprises! First of all I celebrated my birthday not too long ago, which, thanks to the Brit and his careful scheming, brought to town a whole slew of surprise visitors from back home {Vancouver}.... safe to say the celebrations lasted a good while. Next up my lovely mom decided to join in the festivities and come out for an impromptu visit... which pretty much means my days have been filled with tea parties, antique markets and mom's scrumptious persian recipes {sigh}. Finally {all good things do come in threes} the Brit surprised me with a surfing holiday in Morocco at the end of the month!!! 

Now you can't possibly imagine how thrilled I am to get on a board and troll through  Morocco's infamous markets {not at the same time of course}.... so maybe my little music mix is not so late after all, but just in time to keep us company on our sunny day adventures... wherever they may be.
