Curried Indian dosas and chai tea with two of my favourite people; nice way to spend the afternoon. It's funny as I spend more time with my nearest and dearest, I'm starting to wonder how many more of these moments I'll have with them... before I'm off on our road trip {and then off to London for good...Eeek!}

I find I'm taking the time to really take in the experience, give that extra hug and make sure my friends know how incredible I think they are. It's a bit sad that it takes a fast approaching {goodbye} to make me realize how sweet these days can be. I'm trying to not take it for granted. 

I don't need to say farewell to realize how good I've got it here and now.

Birthday Love

It's my dearest friend Brianna's {b-sting} birthday today. 

She's off traveling in Central America, but I wanted to give her a little shout out, because she is one wicked girl.

I met Brianna on the first day of school in Grade 7. My family had just moved to Vancouver from Ontario. I was the awkward new girl who had not yet quite figured out what to do with the hair on her upper lip and Bri was the oddball, who still wore spandex  and had a reputation for getting homesick and crying her guts out on school trips. It's safe to say we were a match made in heaven. A friend of ours us once compared us to the characters in Ghost World. We were so insulted at the time, but looking back.... it make sense.

Bri and I have traveled together, lived together and simply caused a load of trouble throughout the years. If it weren't for Bri, well my life would have been a complete bore {I was a priss before we met} 

Bri is now a world traveling, activist filmmaker, web genius with a heart of gold. The girl who taught me to stand up for myself and for those who don't have a voice is now globetrotting and championing animal and women's rights.... and well she's just that kind of friend, always looking out for you and always got your back.

We stole the perfect moment away from our hectic morning designing business cards at a printshop downtown. 

We simply sat in the van, by the beach, listening to tunes and staring out at the water. It felt like we were teenagers sneaking away from the world. I guess that's what we're about to do, sneak away from the world and park our van in font of some gorgeous views.

Sun Run

We've been trying to exercise more and keep our energy levels up, to keep us productive. So, despite the bitter December chill and Ashi ignoring my advice not to wear her entire winter collection, we set out into the winter sun for a much needed morning power run. Needless to say after 10 minutes of peaceful jogging i am left to run along, while holding someone's aforementioned clothing.... But, it seems our quick jog and combined boot camp effort was just what we needed to tick more items off the To Do list and get get going on this fine sunny day in Vancouver!! Thanks for the divine eggs Ashi. x

Vanlove {Part Two}

There has been a string of sunny days here in Vancouver, so we were back at it with the van repairs for our big trip down south. Now that Renegade has fixed the van stereo he can once again drown out my soulful serenades with his Drum & Bass {Dumb & Ass}. But... on to the real His & Her issue that has us facing off: storage. 

Where's a girl to keep her sunglasses, her sun-dresses and fabulous hat collection in this traveling wardrobe? So,with the help of our trusty, local forman, Motum, Renegade set out to create some more storage room in the old VW. 

In the end we decided to sacrifice the sink for the sake of more space. This wasn't such an easy task. I honestly tried to give the guys my two cents on the whole matter, but was quickly shooed away after mentioning my motivation for an accessories cupboard. In the end, after much cursing, scheming and hammering the sink was removed {and launched across the yard by a very 'heroic' Renegade}. Now for the big showdown... what to put in it? Renegade?

Vanlove {Part One}

In preparation for our adventures down south, there are some adjustments needed to prevent us from drowning in water...or Ashi's 'divine' singing. Having rained constantly for a 3 week period here in sunny Vancouver, it became evident that Alfred, our beloved 1974 Volkswagen had some leakage issues that had to be addressed. The same torrential down-pores that have plagued us through November also infiltrated our essential sound system {leading to Ashi's tantalising tones being the only sound to resonate through the bass box that is Alfred}. As I set to work on the stereo as a matter of urgency, Ashi is left to perch on the roof and to work away on the leakage issue. Much to her family's amazement, she makes an amazing handy-women. The end product was a leak-proof roof and a sound system that is going to BLAZE tunes all the way to who knows where!! Ashi, i love your work!! 

Shout out to Si who has moved back to London, see you there mate!!
