Shop Preview

Just a little sneak peak of some of the goodies we'll be featuring in the shop this week. Renegade and I did a stellar shop recently and can't wait to get the goods online for y'all. Otherwise, life has been busy busy as we fix up the van for our trip down south. Yes, I have been in charge of more than just selecting board games and linens for Alfred the VW. In fact, tomorrow I'm rocking the dungarees and getting my hands dirty as we fix the roof of our soon-to-be traveling love nest. Should be an interesting experience, considering the last thing I 'repaired' was a loose button on my fabulous little, red raincoat.

Boys Will Be Boys

We've officially kicked off the menswear collection in our Etsy store! We're thrilled to be bringing the guys some awesome vintage finds, picked by the stylish Renegade himself. Speaking of Renegade, after much convincing and negotiating {I now have to watch the entire box set of Alan Partridge??!} I finally persuaded him to step in front of the camera to rock some of our wicked finds.
So handsome!

The List

Renegade and I are slowly saying our goodbyes to our beloved Vancouver.
In preparation for our big move to the U.K {and little van trip down the Pacific Coast in between} we've decided to make a list of all our favorite things to do in Vancouver.
Item #1 crossed off the list: Biking around the sea wall!
In the midsts Vancouver's never ending rainy season we got ourselves a sunny day, so off we went on a biking adventure. A big shoe-shiner hats off to Renegade for the gorgeous photos, especially since he took most of them while riding his bike! Now that's talent.

Off WE GO!!

Today was a ceremonial day all round. We officially packed off our first sale to the lucky recipient who's real identity i am still unsure of. Using a number of aliases, all we know is that she lives in Kanzius and she is now the owner of a divine black leather pouch! Although Ashi can be seen smiling in these photos, she was close to tears as i tore the bag from her grips. I wrapped it up quickly before she could escape from the cupboard i locked her in. I have realised that the hardest thing about this store may be getting Ashiberry to part with the trinkets that we discover on our travels! On the same note, i would like to take this opportunity to announce that MyCocoonVintage will soon be trans-Atlantic as we set sail on our journeys to re-locate to LONDON BABY!! We are coming home!!

Moving closer

On the same outing we came across the missing link.... No not Ashi, even though she is born in the year of the monkey! The piece of the puzzle was Jan, our female mannequin!! At the back of a little boutique on Main Street we found the last piece we needed to get our online vintage store, MyCocoonVintage,up and running. With the help of Alfred our 1974 Volkwagen Westfalia, we kidnapped Jan and got to work on our VINTAGE STORE!!

Thats right, look to your right now people and you will see our Etsy store! Sorry to all our friends who have not seen us for weeks; as we have been busy bees grafting away like a 12-year-old mine workers. The hard work has paid off and we are ready to go!!

BIG TINGS

RENEGADE X

Permanent fixture

With winter settling in, we head out into the neighbourhood to invest in some warm clothes or the alternative...suit cases! If the rain gets to us too much, we will be filling them with boardies and bikinis and.... well.... off to Mexico we will go in our Van!

Closet Diaries

I must say, I've settled in quite nicely into Renegade and I's new love cocoon!
My spices are on the kitchen shelves {I just can't reach them!} and the artwork is on the walls...
 As harmonious as this transition into cohabitation has been for me, I've also had my share of  work cut out for me. I've been a busy bee the past week, adding my famous Ashi touch to a space that housed three males and a list of noise complaints.
So far I've...
*'relocated' all large, awkward sporting equipment to the storage facilities {the dungeon}
*'stored' {threw away} any 'out of style' decorations {lava lamp!?} in a more appropriate location {the dumpster} until they make a come back
*placed all shake & bake or other similar culinary staples in a less high-traffic location {out the window}
*and found enough room for both Rengade and I's extensive wardrobe {you get one drawer and that's it}
It's all about compromise, right!

So long Strathcona

I've always wanted to live in Strathcona....
For years I would drive by this little, hidden neighborhood and pictured my life there amongst the cherry blossoms and hundred-year-old homes. I finally got to spend my blissful summer in this one-of-a-kind community. It may be surrounded by one of the world's roughest and most hardened areas {Vancouver's Downtown Eastside}, but in this little island of ten blocks there is hope. What better way to say farewell to my 'hood than a stroll through my favorite park and a soy latte at the most charming corner coffee shop around, the Wilder Snail.
By looks of it Renegade had his very own private celebration involving a giant cinnamon bun {chelsea bun what??} and well... a big ass smile.
Goodbye Strathcona, Hello love cocoon!

East coast endeavors

Although i had never stepped foot on Toronto soil, its urban jungle felt all too familiar. The hustle and bustle and energy that oozed from every street corner reminded me of my beloved adopted home L.O.N.D.O.N. Although no place can replicate the vibe of London it was a welcome taste of the joys a big city has to offer. I had bad reps regarding TO from the west coast before i left, but i am happy to say that you guys need to "fix up look sharp" as big tings are happening east coast. Here is some cool shit i snapped. I would like to thank Ashi for an amazing East coast experience. Without her and her friends none of it would have been the same.

Crazy love x

Peace and love, Renegade.
