Modern Romance

Packed up the VW van and headed south, this time to indulge in another dose of festival revelry. Seattle baby!
This year's Bumbershoot line-up featured our beloved Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
It was almost an early curtain call for us when the van starting smoking at the border, but after tinkering away for few minutes Renegade had us up and roaring towards C-town.
Now, we normally wouldn't miss the opportunity to shoot some snaps of the mesmerizing Mizz O for you guys, but the beer-bellied 'security' at Bumpershoot decided our camera needed to be left at home?? With three minutes to go until our favorite band hit the stage, we got sneaky and hid the camera under this giant mushroom. And it no, it wasn't the magic kind, but magically our camera was still there upon return. {Phew!}

Sunshine Love

This little adventure of ours took place a while back when the sun was still shinning on the West Coast. Renegade and I had no idea that the Sunshine Coast would be such a treasure box of vintage gems when we hit the road in the old van with only a hand-drawn map of Gibsons as our compass.  A short and sunny ferry ride was the perfect kick off  to our van-love adventure. In fact, it wasn't too far from the terminal dock on the other side that we first discovered the world's most charming thrift shop. That's where I met my twin Lise. We clicked right away when she exclaimed 'you're just as tiny as me'!
Lise and I come from the completely different world's and backgrounds, but the similarities between us are far too many {we have the exact same handwriting!!!}. Lise first came out to Gibsons from Ottawa while on family vacation. She met the man of dreams, and well... never left! Ironically enough, I fell in love with every single trinket lining the walls of the thrift shop she works at and yes, I had my dear partner in crime right with me.

We were surprised we could get the van up to our campsite after we filled it to absolute capacity. My most precious find is an old early 1900's British Rail travel chest. It found its way over on to the West Coast just like Renegade. Lucky for me!
It's the perfect picnic table and display case for our vintage shop. The rest of our little trip was spent biking, beaching and munching on fresh fruit- all while wearing our fabulous new threads!

Kick Off!

We have  got ourselves two, one-way tickets to Montreal!! Where the road leads, only post POP will reveal. Smoked meat, mountains of fun, bikes and vintage gems. Watch out, we're comin a get ya.

Renegade

I love how to-the-point he can be about his excitement. I'm dying to rip down Mt. Royal on my bike and see all the leaves changing color, have a cup of tea at Fuscia, shop my heart out, get crazy at Fever Ray, have those delicious garlic prawns at Sala Rosa. How many days left???
My heart is skipping a little faster as every day goes by.
Je t'aime Montreal.
